We're looking for a proactive Quality Control Officer to join our quality team at one of the UK’s most dynamic and forward-thinking print and packaging businesses. If you thrive on collaboration, attention to detail, and getting things right the first time, this could be the role for you.
About the Role
This isn't your typical quality control job. Yes, you'll inspect products and handle quality documentation, but more importantly, you’ll act as a bridge between Quality and Production. We want someone who can build trusted, positive relationships with our printers, helping them succeed and ensuring quality isn't a battle, but a shared goal.
You’ll be central to identifying and resolving issues, managing customer complaints, and contributing to continuous improvement across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect printed labels and finished goods during production to ensure they meet quality and customer standards
* Support printers and operators on the shop floor - offering guidance, not just oversight
* Build strong working relationships with production teams to prevent quality issues before they happen
* Manage customer complaints, from logging and investigation to resolution and communication
* Monitor compliance with internal SOPs, GMP, and customer requirements
* Maintain documentation like non-conformance reports, inspection logs, and calibration records
* Liaise with Customer Service to resolve any quality-related queries quickly and professionally
* Contribute to training staff on best practices and complaint procedures
* Identify improvement opportunities to reduce waste, increase consistency, and raise standards
What You'll Need
* A keen eye for detail and a calm, collaborative approach
* Experience in a quality control or assurance role – ideally in print, packaging, or labelling
* Solid understanding of quality standards like ISO 9001, BRC, GMP, etc.
* Great communication and relationship-building skills – especially with production teams
* Experience handling quality complaints from investigation to resolution
* Good IT skills – especially Excel and digital quality tracking systems
* Bonus if you have knowledge of print processes or internal auditing training
Working Hours
