Quality Control Operator

As a Quality Control Operator, your role is straightforward — inspect, check, and sign off products before they leave the site.
Working within a growing manufacturing facility, you’ll be the final checkpoint before goods reach the customer. You’ll follow clear inspection plans, work to defined standards, and make sure everything leaving the building is up to scratch. It’s a hands-on role that involves being on your feet throughout the shift, moving materials into position, and carefully examining each batch to ensure it meets specification.
Job Responsibilities
Load material onto inspection machinery in preparation for checking
Visually examine products to identify marks, damage, or inconsistencies
Cut, prepare, and test samples to confirm quality
Label, record, and log all inspected items accurately using internal systems
Complete all required paperwork and computer-based records for traceability
Move and position materials manually and using lifting aids where required
Maintain a clean and organised inspection area
Follow set inspection criteria and escalate any issues or concerns to the team leader
Contribute to general process improvements within the inspection function
Skills and Experience
Previous experience as a Quality Control Operator, production operator, or in a manufacturing environment
Comfortable standing and moving around machinery throughout the shift
Methodical approach with great attention to detail
Computer literate and confident recording inspection data
Forklift licence beneficial but training can be provided
Able to follow procedures consistently and raise issues when needed
Pay and Benefits
£13.85 per hour / £27,000 per annum
37.5-hour working week
Fortnightly rotating shifts: Monday to Friday 6am–2pm one week / 2pm–10pm the next
Overtime during the week and on weekends paid at x1.5
Temp-to-perm route with all roles intended to become permanent
Two weeks’ on-the-job training provided from day one
