Quality Controller – Food Production
Pontefract, West Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (occasional Saturdays & longer shifts up to 12 hours may be required)
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role:
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join a thriving food production team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, fast-paced facility that supplies pre-prepared meat products to some of the UK’s best-known supermarket and meal kit brands.
You’ll play a key part in upholding quality and safety standards, ensuring every product meets precise customer and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, intermediate, and finished products
Conduct label verification and air temperature monitoring
Calibrate equipment, including scales and temperature probes
Collect and prepare samples for lab analysis, including equine testing
Carry out internal audits (e.g., black bag audits)
Report and resolve quality concerns in line with company procedures
Support the Quality Assurance team as business needs evolve

Experience in a quality or food safety role (food industry preferred but not essential)
