Job Description: Quality & Curriculum Manager Location: Brighton, UK Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent Role Overview: We are seeking a Quality & Curriculum Manager to lead and manage curriculum delivery, staff, and quality frameworks across multiple programmes. This is a pivotal role combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational oversight, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment. You will manage a team of tutors and assessors, oversee curriculum planning and innovation, and drive continuous improvement in learner outcomes. You will also ensure compliance with funding, awarding body, and inspection requirements, supporting staff development and delivering organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum & Department Management * Lead and line-manage tutors and assessors across Functional Skills, ESOL, and vocational programmes. * Develop and innovate curriculum, embedding digital learning, inclusivity, and employer-led approaches. * Monitor learner progress, outcomes, and interventions to ensure timely and effective support. * Manage departmental delivery, ensuring programmes meet learner needs, employer demand, and compliance standards. Quality & Compliance * Lead the organisation’s quality assurance framework, overseeing IQA, EQA, audits, and inspection readiness. * Conduct lesson observations, deep dives, and internal inspections to maintain and improve teaching and assessment standards. * Ensure compliance with all statutory and funding requirements, including exams, registrations, and reporting processes. * Review, update, and implement teaching, learning, and quality policies. Leadership & Staff Development * Provide line management, coaching, and CPD for tutors and assessors to improve teaching quality and learner outcomes. * Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion across the organisation. * Support operational strategy and contribute to organisational development as part of the senior leadership team. * Identify areas for improvement in learner journeys, curriculum delivery, and quality systems. Operational & Strategic Responsibilities * Lead preparation for external audits, quality visits, and inspection reviews. * Contribute to business improvement planning and self-assessment reporting. * Support strategic operational decisions to improve curriculum provision, learner outcomes, and compliance standards. Essential Criteria: * Degree-level qualification or equivalent. * Full teaching qualification (Cert Ed, C&G 7407, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent). * Level 5 management qualification. * Level 2 English and Maths. * Proven experience leading quality, curriculum, and staff in education or training provision. * Experience managing Functional Skills, ESOL, or vocational programmes. * Knowledge of quality frameworks, internal/external verification, and inspection readiness. * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Desirable Criteria: * Experience leading Skills Bootcamps, AEB, or Multiply programmes. * Familiarity with ILR, audit, and compliance requirements. * Experience acting as a nominee for inspections or quality audits. * Additional teaching or IQA qualifications
