Quality Engineer
Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire area
Salary: £40k - £45k (potential to move slightly)
A large Aerospace Manufacturing company who specialises in precision machining now require a Quality Engineer to join their team.
Quality Engineer – Job Role:
* Stay up-to-date with regulations and ensure that all quality processes adhere to relevant standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
* Ability to use problem solving with tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc. and lead root cause investigations.
* Generate reports on quality performance and issues and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
* Maintain detailed records of quality inspections and tests.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
* Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
* Implement and maintain quality control processes and systems.
* Identify and address non-conformities and deviations from quality standards.
* Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures in compliance with standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality requirements for aerospace projects.
Quality Engineer - Core skills required
The ideal candidate must come from an engineering background as a Quality Engineer. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
* Ideally hold a HNC, HND or BEng in Engineering
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.
* Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, SPC, 5WHY and Route Cause
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to thorough documentation.
* Relevant experience in quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industry.
* Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards and regulations (Not essential).
* Knowledge of statistical analysis tools for quality data.
