Overview:
Red Recruitment are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support quality activities throughout product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) at our client based in Redditch. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing processes and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support quality engineering activities during NPI and project development
* Prepare and manage PPAP and FAIR documentation
* Ensure effective implementation of design and process changes
* Conduct internal and supplier audits
* Collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards
* Assist in continuous improvement and QMS projects
* Support contract reviews and ensure regulatory compliance
* Deputise for the Quality Manager when required
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality engineering role
* Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and FAIR processes
* Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, or AS9100
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
* Experience with measurement tools (e.g. verniers, micrometres)
* Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or DMAIC
* Project management experience
