Job Description

Abatec is recruiting for a freelance Quality Engineer to join one of South West’s biggest Civil Engineering projects. This is an opportunity to join an award-winning tier-one contractor that has secured an exciting, challenging, and ongoing project in Plymouth, Devon.

Our client requires a Quality Engineer who has previously worked in Civil Engineering and has experience with ITP’s, NCR’s, MAR’s, and Life-Time Quality Records.

As Quality Engineer you will:

  * Support the implementation and maintenance of the project Quality Management System

  * Prepare, review and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), including subcontractor documentation

  * Carry out internal audits in line with the project audit schedule and ensure close-out of findings

  * Assist site teams with quality compliance, ensuring works meet project specifications and standards

  * Monitor and track material approvals, ensuring certification and compliance requirements are met

  * Review Lifetime Quality Records and support the timely delivery of handover documentation

  * Identify, record and track non-conformances (NCRs), supporting investigations and close-out

Our client requires a Quality Engineer with:

  * Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related discipline

  * CSCS Card (White PQP/AQP preferred)

  * Experience of working in a similar position for a civils contractor

  * An understanding of construction drawings

Additional Information:

  * Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS and SC security clearance will be required (this process can take several weeks)

  * Candidates must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country

Salary and benefits include:

  * £400 - £450 p/day PAYE Umbrella
