Quality Engineer
📍 Redditch (B98)
💼 Full-time, Permanent
💰 £30,000 – £40,000 DOE

About the Role
Soraya Recruitment is seeking a Quality Engineer to support NPI, production quality, and continuous improvement within a growing engineering/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  * Support quality engineering activities during NPI and project stages

  * Prepare PPAP and FAIR documentation

  * Introduce engineering changes into production effectively

  * Attend contract reviews to ensure compliance

  * Work with customers and suppliers on key characteristics

  * Support project milestones with technical teams

  * Conduct internal and supplier audits

  * Support QMS continuous improvement

  * Assist in identifying QMS/EMS risks

  * Deputise for the Quality Manager

  * Report on Quality Assurance performance

  * Create and maintain manufacturing instructions and quality plans

  * Support APQP/NPI through to production handover

  * Manage calibration systems

  * Support daily quality activities and decision-making

Requirements

  * 2+ years’ experience in Quality Engineering

  * Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAIR

  * Understanding of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / AS9100 / ISO 14001

  * Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T

  * Experience with measurement equipment

  * Good communication and organisation skills

  * Microsoft Office proficiency

Desirable

  * Lean / Six Sigma knowledge (DMAIC, SPC, RCA)

  * Project management experience

  * Experimental design knowledge

  * Supplier performance

  * Project delivery timelines

  * Cost of Non-Quality

  * Achievement of objectives
