We’re looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer who enjoys being close to the product, the process and the people making it happen.
If you’re a Quality Engineer who likes solving problems on the shop floor rather than spending all day behind a desk, this could be a great fit. You’ll join a precision manufacturing environment where the work you do has a direct impact on product performance, customer satisfaction and patient safety.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll work closely with Production, Engineering, Inspection and Supply Chain to keep manufacturing moving while making sure the right standards are maintained.
You’ll:
* Investigate production issues using structured root cause techniques.
* Lead root cause investigations into internal, supplier and customer non-conformances.
* Turn root cause findings into effective corrective and preventive actions that stop issues from coming back.
* Support inspection activities and review dimensional inspection results, including CMM reports.
* Review engineering drawings, specifications and inspection requirements.
* Complete product and batch release activities, ensuring documentation and traceability are accurate.
* Support incoming inspection and review supplier certification and documentation.
* Work directly with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and drive corrective actions.
* Support audits, maintain quality records and help improve procedures and processes.
* Analyse quality data, trends and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
What we’re looking for
To be successful as a Quality Engineer, you’ll need practical experience in a regulated manufacturing environment and the confidence to make informed decisions when issues arise.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
* Previous experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar manufacturing quality role.
* Practical knowledge of ISO 13485 and Quality Management Systems.
* Strong experience with CAPA, non-conformance management and root cause analysis.
* Confidence using root cause problem-solving methods such as 5 Whys and Fishbone.
* The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Experience with standard inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges.
* Confidence reviewing CMM inspection reports.
* Experience with product release, traceability, concessions and deviations.
* Experience supporting internal, customer, supplier or third-party audits.
* Strong data analysis, reporting and Microsoft Excel skills.
Medical device manufacturing experience would be ideal, although we’d also be keen to speak with candidates from , precision engineering, aerospace, automotive or rail.
