Quality Engineer

Aerospace Industry| 4-Day Week

Up to £45,000 DOE | Southend-on-Sea | Monday to Thursday | 37 hours

An established aerospace engineering manufacturer in Southend-on-Sea is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer looking to progress. They require an Aerospace Quality professional seeking a role with greater autonomy and leadership responsibility. You'll own the QMS, lead the Inspection team and act as the main point of contact for quality.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the AS9100 QMS
Lead, support and develop the Inspection team
Act as the main point of contact for quality matters
Create and approve FAIR / LAIR documentation
Oversee calibration, testing and qualification
Conduct internal and external audits to AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards
Act as Approved Signatory for release and inspection processes
Manage Visual FAIR software training and compliance
Drive continuous improvement and support business objectives 

Skills & Experience

Proven aerospace engineering experience - essential
Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 
Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) / LAIR
Experience with QMS documentation, FAIRs, contract reviews and calibration
Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
Experience conducting internal and external audits
Experience leading or developing a team
Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills 

The opportunity

This role would suit a Senior Quality Engineer or QA Engineer ready to take greater ownership and move towards a Quality Manager leadership position.
