An established and steadily growing engineering business is seeking a Quality Engineer to support continued growth and customer demand. The company designs and manufactures a broad range of precision-engineered products, including solenoid valves and actuators, supplying into regulated industries such as rail, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and marine.
With demand spread across international markets and multiple sectors, they continue to invest in people and capability. The facility is well equipped, with in-house CNC machining, coil winding, assembly, testing, and finishing (powder coating and wet paint).
The Role:
You’ll take responsibility for day-to-day quality issues across the business, focusing on customer returns, non-conformances, and root cause analysis. You'll lead structured problem-solving (8D, Ishikawa, CAPA) and support production teams with quality improvements. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that involves working closely with both internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate customer returns and internal NCRs
Lead root cause investigations and implement effective CAPAs
Support production teams with quality concerns and process improvements
Liaise with supply chain on supplier quality and recurring issues
Facilitate cross-functional efforts to resolve technical and quality-related problems
The Person:
We’re looking for a practical engineer with a strong understanding of quality principles. You’ll ideally have experience within an assembly-based environment and be familiar with working in a regulated or precision manufacturing setting.
Requirements:
Background in engineering with relevant Quality experience
Familiarity with tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, CAPA, and other problem-solving methodologies
A proactive and collaborative approach – able to bring people together to resolve issues
Experience with solenoid valves or electromechanical assemblies would be advantageous
Full UK driving licence
Salary & Benefits:
£35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
