This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading manufacturing organisation. The role is a 3-month contract and will involve travel between the Wakefield and St Neots sites.
The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible.
Purpose of the Role
Support management in maintaining and improving the Quality Management Systems (QMS). Promote quality policy, objectives, process approach, risk-based thinking, and continuous improvement. Ensure integration of quality requirements into business processes.
Main Objectives and Responsibilities
Knowledge & Understanding
Maintain deep knowledge of:
* Quality Standards.
* Industry standards, legal, and regulatory requirements.
* Quality tools/methods (PEP, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, audits).
* Customer quality expectations.
* Hydraulic products and fundamentals.
Quality Management System (QMS) Involvement
* Assess and ensure QMS effectiveness; escalate issues if not resolved.
* Support integration of QMS into department processes.
* Help develop quality-related policies and procedures.
* Drive continuous improvement of the QMS.
Quality Assurance Tasks
* Ensure compliance with QMS across all UK sites.
* Implement and maintain quality standards.
* Participate in engineering/project teams to ensure quality requirements are considered.
* Lead or support FMEA and problem-solving activities (e.g. 8D).
* Prepare quality sections of product documentation.
* Conduct internal and supplier audits (lead/co-lead), manage follow-ups and escalate when necessary.
* Participate in external audits and manage resulting action plans.
* Promote quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
* Monitor KPIs and create reports, analyze deviations, and coordinate corrective actions.
* Maintain CE/CA Mark register and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Qualifications & Skills
HNC or higher in relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
Strong knowledge of hydraulic products.
Audit/quality qualification or equivalent experience.
Proficient in MS Office and SAP (or similar systems).
Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Technical Competencies
Quality assurance in production.
Product Engineering Process (PEP) and software-specific quality processes.
Process mapping, KPIs, Lean principles.
Use of standard quality tools and methods.
Engineering change management.
Product data/document management.
Product liability and technical safety standards
