Job Vacancy: Quality Engineer / Inspector
Location: Atherton, Manchester
Hours: Day Shift, Monday to Thursday:08:00 to 16:30 & Friday 08:00 to 15.30
Job Type: Permanent / Full-Time
Salary: £48,000 to £52,000 per annum
Due to growth in the business, our client is looking to recruit an experienced quality inspector to join the QA team. You’ll be working closely with the current quality engineer, production and project engineering personnel to ensure that part inspection and documentation is completed in time to meet production demands. Support the Quality Manager in completing nonconformance investigations and reports, ISO9001 audits, and writing working instructions. The successful candidate will be a hands-on quality engineer who is methodical and organised, with a good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and have inspection experience.
Job Role:
* Measuring parts in accordance with engineering drawings using various types of measuring equipment, including external micrometers, 3-legged bore micrometers, stick micrometers, depth micrometers, verniers and gauges.
* Performing Goods Inwards, Pre-Paint and Final Inspections.
* Completing dimensional reports / inspection drawings and inspection sign off documentation.
* Stamping parts, tapping threaded holes – as required.
* Reviewing customer drawings and specifications.
* Issuing customer “Notifications of Inspection” and working with 3rd party witness inspectors.
* Complete non-conformity reports (NCR’s) including root cause analysis and implementing corrective & preventative actions.
* Ensuring that both customer and in-house procedures are comprehensively followed, and suggest improvements as required.
* Liaising with document control to ensure that document packs are being compiled correctly.
* Completing ISO9001 audits.
Skills Experience and Qualifications:
* Qualifications/Education/Training: GCSE Maths & English. HND qualified or minimum 3-5 years relevant industry experience. ISO9001 auditor qualification.
* Computer literate, familiar with MS Office applications.
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years in quality engineering.
* Minimum of 2 years inspection experience. Knowledge:
* Experience of quality management systems. Experience of non-conformance investigations + reports.
* Experience of measurement using internal & external micrometers, gauges.
