Job Purpose:
To assure the accuracy and consistency of the on-site QC results by running an ongoing monitoring and spot-checking program across 5 sites in the Angus, Tayside and Fife areas. This is part of an exciting project to change the way we reward our growers for delivering higher quality fruit.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
* To visit each of our on-farm packing locations 2 or 3 times per week
* Performing quality checks at random on raw material and on shelf-life samples to verify consistency of existing QC processes by comparing and contrasting the sites own pre-logged scores for those same samples
* Logging and analysing this data on a regular basis using spreadsheets and other data analysis tools
* Working together with Angus Soft Fruits quality technologist to:-
report this data back to pack houses
seek improvement to the consistency of the results
focus any further training where it is needed
On-site Support:
* Using the results and analysis to identify where improvement is needed
* Assisting with routine site visits to identify why the sites may be applying inconsistent scores
* Assisting with training the sites to achieve more consistent use of the scoring methodologies for fruit quality
* To undertake any other duty commensurate with the role.
Person Specification
Education -
* Minimum Nat 4/5 Pass or Credit equivalent in Maths and English (other country equivalents are acceptable).
Experience -
* Knowledge or experience within the food or farming industries
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Skills -
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to prioritise and self-manage effectively

* Ability to use initiative and work part as a team
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to stand, lift and inspect trays of soft fruit, often in colder environments for extended periods of time
* Ability to travel to and around rural locations by car (car can be provided if necessary).

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 4 months
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week

* Monday to Friday
* Weekend availability
