Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to work for a successful machinery manufacturing company in Barnsley.

Working hours are 07:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 07:30am - 1:30pm Friday (40 hours per week). The basic rate of pay is £15.16 x 40 hours per week plus guaranteed minimum £45 per week bonus (£33,872.80 minimum per annum). There is also structured overtime paid at x1.5 or x2 hourly rate.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide Quality Control support to Manufacturing areas, conduct inspection, collect measurement data, and ensure quality control documents are available to operators.

• Support Quality Assurance Engineers and Team Leaders in implementing preventative solutions to Quality concerns.

• Assist in the development, implementation, and auditing of Quality Control Procedures.

• Conduct “patrol” inspection assisting operators in identifying non-conforming processes to standards and identifying rework requirements.

• Performing immediate containment of reported defective products.

Experience Required:

• Visual Weld Inspection Qualification e.g. PCN Level 1

• Experience in manufacturing practices; Welding/Fabrication, Assembly and Pressing.

• Ability to use basic measuring equipment, e.g. Vernier, bore micrometre, bore gauges, Go/No Go gauges etc.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Computer literate – with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint also Access
