Job Description

Location: Chadderton, OL9
Pay Rate: £15.26 per hour (£30,160 per annum)
Hours: 38 hours per week | 2 Shift Pattern (6am–2:10pm / 2pm–10:10pm, Monday–Friday)
Duration: Temporary, ongoing (perm after the probation period of 12 weeks)

Reporting into the Quality Manager, the role of Quality Inspector involves maintaining the Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety standards within the aerospace, manufacturing and distribution company.

Key responsibilities:

  * Assisting the First Article Inspection process within the business

  * Carrying out in-process inspection to ensure ongoing production quality during production/warehouse activities

  * Creating and updating QHSE documentation

  * Assisting in lab activities as required by the Quality Manager

  * Creating certificates of analysis and reports as required

  * Support investigations into reported non-conformances

  * Ensuring production items consistently meet drawing and specification requirements

  * Liaison with Supervisors and Team Leaders regarding quality issues found and lead investigations to root causes and responsible for the upkeep of the production rejections log

  * Oversee QC location and manage Quarantined stock as needed

  * Monthly shelf-life monitoring

  * Training and awareness to employees on QHSE related issues

  * Carry out internal audits to schedule in relation to IS9001/EN9100 & ISO14001

  * Any other tasks and duties as required by senior management

Skills & Experience

  * Quality experience within a Production/Manufacturing environment preferred

  * Competent internal Auditor with experience of AS9001/EN9100 standards preferred

  * Excellent communication skills

  * Proactive approach to problem solving

  * Competent in use of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  * Experience with Technical drawings and customer specifications

  * Educated to at least GCSE standard and relevant work experience

Once permanent

  * We offer 25 days annual leave per annum, plus birthday off after 12 months service

  * We also offer 2* salary life assurance after 12 months service and enhance maternity/paternity pay, etc. after 2 years service

  * We also offer a bonus which is linked to Company profits and can't be guaranteed. Note this bonus is now paid annually not monthly

  * Standard auto enrolment pension
