Quality Inspector (PCB)
Location: Waterlooville
Pay Rate: Dependent on experience
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:00pm | Friday, 7:30am - 1:00pm

Job Summary
The PCB Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that printed circuit boards (PCBs) meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. This role involves inspecting PCBs throughout the manufacturing process, identifying defects, verifying compliance with specifications, and maintaining accurate quality records. The PCB Quality Inspector plays a critical role in delivering reliable, high-quality electronic products.
Key Responsibilities
Perform visual and microscopic inspections of bare and assembled printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Inspect products against engineering drawings, customer specifications, IPC standards, and quality procedures.
Identify and document defects such as soldering issues, component placement errors, damaged traces, and cosmetic imperfections.
Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections.
Verify dimensions, tolerances, and workmanship standards using measuring equipment and inspection tools.
Complete inspection reports, quality documentation, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for quality issues.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing defects.
Ensure compliance with ISO, IPC, and customer-specific quality requirements.
Monitor production processes and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
Maintain calibration records and ensure inspection equipment is properly used and maintained.
Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.Required Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical specifications.
Experience with microscopes, magnifiers, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
Good verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) certification.
Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assembly processes.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Familiarity with electronic testing and inspection equipment.
