We’re looking for a Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team and play a key role in ensuring that high-quality machined components meet exact engineering and customer requirements.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our production and engineering teams, using a range of precision measurement equipment and CMM to inspect components.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Inspector, you will:
* Carry out detailed inspections of precision-machined components to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
* Use a range of precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, ring gauges and other measuring instruments.
* Program and operate CMM equipment to accurately inspect component features and produce inspection reports.
* Analyse measurement results and make informed decisions on product conformity and quality.
* Identify, segregate and report non-conforming products, ensuring issues are controlled and clearly communicated.
* Raise Non-Conformance Reports where required and support investigations into quality issues.
* Check that all measuring and inspection equipment is within calibration before use.
* Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation to support traceability, quality standards and audits.
* Work closely with production teams during machine setups, first-off inspections and process checks.
* Communicate quality concerns promptly to production, engineering and other relevant departments.
* Carry out goods-inwards inspections when required.
* Contribute to a strong quality-first culture, helping identify opportunities to improve processes and prevent recurring issues.
You will ideally have:
* Experience working as a Quality Inspector within a precision machining environment.
* The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
* Hands-on experience in programming and operating CMM.
* Strong practical knowledge of precision measurement equipment and inspection techniques.
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right first time.
* Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong record-keeping and documentation abilities.
* The confidence to work independently while also being an effective member of a production team.
