Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Derby
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Overview:
An established precision engineering company based in Derby is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join its growing team. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring components meet strict quality standards before reaching customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting products, maintaining documentation, and signing off completed work in line with internal procedures and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed inspection of machined components using a range of measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMMs).
Ensure all products comply with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Accurately complete and maintain inspection records and sign-off documentation.
Identify and report non-conformances, raising appropriate paperwork and following up as required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function.
Work closely with production teams to resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
Carry out final inspection and release of goods prior to dispatch.Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in a quality inspection role, ideally within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
Familiarity with quality systems and documentation requirements (e.g., ISO standards).
Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to tasks.
