Job Description
You don’t rush. You inspect, every measurement matters. Every report means something. The Quality Inspector is not here to go through the motions— as a Quality Inspector, you’re here to make sure the parts leaving the building are spot on.
The Quality Inspector plays a hands-on role in ensuring that our precision components meet both customer and internal standards. Here's a breakdown of what the role typically involves:
Quality Inspector Overview & Responsibilities
* Dimensional inspections using tools like micrometers, calipers, verniers, dial indicators, talysurf surface measurement, and shadowgraphs
* First-off and final release inspections, including detailed dimensional reports
* Monitoring work-in-progress and halting production if unacceptable goods or processes are detected
* Calibration tracking for measurement equipment
* Visual comparisons of workpieces to detect manufacturing variations
* Advising operators on visual acceptability and measurement procedures
* Documenting defects and reporting to the Chief Inspector
* Collaborating across departments to resolve quality issues quickly
Qualifications & Skills
* GCSEs in Maths and English (NVQ or equivalent is a plus)
* Ability to read engineering drawings
* Experience with measuring equipment and basic computer use
* Strong attention to detail and communication skills
* CMM operation/programming is advantageous
Salary & Benefits
* Salary package from £30k – 35k
