Job Title: Quality Inspector / Quality Engineer
Location: Atherton, Manchester
Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00–16:30, Friday 08:00–15:30
Job Type: Permanent / Full-Time
Overview:
Due to continued growth, our client—a well-established precision engineering company—is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their QA team. This is a hands-on role with approximately 80% inspection duties and 20% quality engineering responsibilities, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with components, drawings, and measuring equipment while contributing to quality systems and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspecting parts to engineering drawings using micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges, verniers, and other precision tools
* Performing Goods Inwards, Pre-Paint, and Final Inspections
* Completing dimensional reports and inspection documentation
* Reviewing customer drawings and issuing Notifications of Inspection
* Supporting NCR investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
* Assisting with ISO9001 audits and documentation control
* Suggesting improvements to inspection and QA processes
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ hands-on inspection experience
* Familiarity with internal/external micrometers, gauges, and visual inspection
* Exposure to ISO9001 audits and quality systems
* Methodical, organised, and detail-oriented
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
* HND or equivalent experience in engineering or quality
