📍 Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme - ST5
🕒 Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Quality Manager to lead our client's quality function within a precision engineering environment. This is a key leadership role where you will take ownership of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO9001 standards, and drive continuous improvement across the business.

You will manage the day-to-day activities of the inspection department, leading a small team while remaining actively involved in inspection and measurement activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  * Managing and developing the Quality Management System in line with AS9100 / ISO9001

  * Leading internal and customer audits

  * Overseeing daily operations of the inspection room and supervising two inspectors

  * Carrying out hands-on inspection activities when required

  * Programming and operating CMMs using PC-DMIS from CAD models

  * Acting as the main point of contact for customer quality issues

  * Investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions

  * Coordinating inspection reports, FAIRs, PPAPs, and quality documentation

  * Reporting quality KPIs to Directors and contributing to management decisions

What We’re Looking For

  * Proven experience managing a QMS to AS9100 / ISO9001 standards

  * Experience conducting internal and external audits

  * Strong understanding of CNC machining processes

  * Hands-on experience with CMMs and other metrology equipment

  * Experience using PC-DMIS for CMM programming

  * Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models

  * Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  * Experience in aerospace or precision engineering (Desirable)

  * Lead Auditor qualification (Desirable)

  * Knowledge of FAIR and PPAP processes (Desirable)
