Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager who is looking for a fresh challenge in their career, with a role which can make a positive difference.
Fast-paced automotive supplier is seeking a Quality Manager with an automotive background for their manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Quality Director with direct and indirect reports. The successful applicant will be responsible for motivating, training, and leading their staff; resolving customer and supplier quality issues; completing quality reports; maintaining and improving the quality management system; managing all quality assurance activities and giving regular quality presentations.
Requirements for the position -
* HNC or Engineering apprenticeship trained.
* At least five years of similar quality management experience
* Automotive supplier experience
* Root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Strong customer communication experience, developing quality agreements, needs to be authoritarian with respect to decision making on customer affected quality issues. Customer/Supplier site visits when required.
* Prepared to be “hands on”
Skills required,
* IATF 16949 Quality management systems, customer audits and development of improvement plans using highlighted processes. (APQP, PPAP, PSW, 5 WHYS, 8D and lean improvement tools.)
* Good working knowledge of geometric, dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to assist in decision making to provide leadership & technical support using results from the Coordinate measuring machine and scanner.
* Metallurgical knowledge
* Microsoft Office, Excel, Customer portals.
* Environmental ISO14001 experience.
* Ideally cast aluminium or machining experience
