A large-scale construction programme within a secure defence setting is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support the successful delivery of one of the South West's most important infrastructure projects.
Working on a live operational site, the Quality Manager will take the lead on quality assurance, compliance and continuous improvement, ensuring effective quality management systems are embedded throughout the project while supporting safe and efficient delivery.
Due to the nature of the project, security clearance will be required before commencement. Please note this process can take several weeks, with eligibility subject to nationality and residency requirements.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will oversee the project's quality strategy, working alongside senior stakeholders to ensure the highest standards are achieved across every stage of the programme.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing, implementing and maintaining the project's Quality Management System (QMS)
Establishing quality objectives that support both project delivery and wider business goals
Planning and leading internal, external and certification audits
Managing, mentoring and developing the quality team, including recruitment and performance management
Investigating complex quality issues and driving effective resolutions with multidisciplinary teams
Ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulatory obligations and recognised industry standards
Preparing quality performance reports for senior leadership and client representatives
Promoting continuous improvement initiatives and supporting quality-led risk management About You To be successful, you'll have a strong background in construction, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects, along with proven experience delivering robust quality management processes.
You'll ideally have:
Professional qualification with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience, or at least 12 years' relevant industry experience
HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Quality or a related discipline
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification
IOSH Managing Safely certification
CSCS White PQP/AQP Card
CSCS Managers Card
In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards
Demonstrable experience leading and developing quality teams
Strong communication, organisational and strategic decision-making skills
Experience managing audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement programmes
