We're working with an established and growing food and beverage manufacturing business that is looking for a Quality Manager to take ownership of its Quality Control function and play a key role in driving food safety, product quality and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong factory-floor presence, working closely with the Compliance Manager and wider operational teams to ensure products consistently meet customer, legal and internal standards.
The Role
You'll lead and develop the Quality Control team, ensuring robust quality systems and controls are in place across production.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing the Quality Control team across production.
Maintaining a strong quality presence on the factory floor and driving accountability.
Monitoring product quality, specifications and conformity.
Overseeing line monitoring and CCP activities, identifying and escalating issues in real time.
Managing product holds, releases and non-conformances.
Leading corrective and preventative actions and supporting root cause investigations.
Analysing quality data and trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Supporting customer, certification and regulatory audits.
Coaching and developing the Quality team to build capability and engagement.
Working closely with Compliance to support HACCP, SOPs, control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone with proven experience in a Quality Manager, QA Manager or Technical Quality role within food manufacturing.
You'll ideally have:
Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
Experience managing Quality Control operations and laboratory/testing activities.
HACCP qualification.
Knowledge of BRCGS, retailer standards and GFSI-recognised schemes.
Experience supporting audits and customer visits.
Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience leading, coaching and developing a Quality team.
The confidence to influence stakeholders across all levels of a business.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.Experience within food manufacturing or beverage is essential.
