Quality Manager - Carlisle area - c£35k plus benefits
Overview: The role is with a food manufacturer that produce products for major retailers in the UK. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hands-on, factory facing and retailer focused food industry background. They’re also happy to look at supervisors stepping up.
Experience Required:
* As Quality Manager, you will possess in-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and experience in the chilled foods sector.
* Previous experience within a technical or quality assurance department
* Food related qualifications and operating within the guidelines of BRCGS and customer standards
* A good level of knowledge of label and product specifications information
* Knowledge of technical requirements within a low-risk factory environment
* Able to demonstrate areas of change culture
* Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Responsibilities:
* As Quality Assurance Manager, this role involves leading a quality team to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) specific to chilled food products
* Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
* Stay updated on changes in food safety legislation and ensure that the company’s practices are aligned with the latest requirements
* Manage and lead the company's response to any quality or safety incidents, including product recalls or customer complaints
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging proactive problem-solving and innovation
* Drive initiatives aimed at reducing waste, improving efficiency, and minimizing quality-related cost
* Prepare regular reports on quality performance, including non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and audit results
