Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive Quality & Ripening Controller to join our client’s team in Dartford. The role involves assessing and reporting product quality from intake to dispatch, managing ripening processes, and ensuring all quality standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out quality checks at intake, ripening, production, and dispatch stages.
*
Manage ripening regimes and report performance against quality and technical KPIs.
*
Conduct shelf life and accelerated ripening trials, reporting accurate results.
*
Highlight quality performance at grower level to support continuous improvement.
*
Provide guidance to the packhouse on product handling and management.
*
Assist with stock reassessments to maximise returns through correct stock rotation.
*
Perform equipment calibration checks.
*
Support technical ripening trials and prepare customer/analysis samples.
*
Undertake other related duties as required.
Requirements
*
Minimum 1 year of experience in a Fresh Produce or Quality function.
*
Basic IT/computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft D365 is desirable).
*
Ability to work with urgency and make effective decisions under tight schedules.
*
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
*
Excellent communication skills, able to adapt style to different audiences.
*
Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve KPIs.
