The Quality and Safety Engineer will play a key role in supporting operations by overseeing quality assurance and health and safety protocols across all areas of the business. Key duties include implementing and maintaining quality systems, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and developing safety policies and procedures. Additionally, the engineer will take part in audits, prepare reports, and work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safety and quality objectives are met. Occasional travel to company and client sites will be required to ensure regulatory adherence and process improvements.
Required Expertise for the Quality and Safety Engineer:
Strong background in Electrical and Mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a quality engineering role
Experience in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, civil engineering, utilities, or welding
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001) and health & safety regulations (OHSAS 45001)
Skilled in audits, regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and safety procedure development
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, with strong collaboration and communication skills
Proficient in producing reports, metrics, and conducting incident investigations for senior management
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent safety qualification
Willingness to travel for site visits and audits, with a full UK driving license and
Eligibility for SC clearance (British or ILR holder)
Familiarity with automation systems and functional safety standards i.e. ISO 27001 (desired)
Degree-level education with relevant professional memberships e.g., CQA, IOSH (desired)
