We're supporting an innovative technology company operating in the communications industry, currently going through a period of strong growth. They're looking for a practical Quality Technician to join their Cambridge team, helping build world-class products within a Lean Manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing:
Carrying out assembly, inspection and test of micro-components.
Managing incoming material quality and commission testing of electronic components as part of engineering design and process development.
Carrying out data analysis of precision manufactured parts to support concept and prototype development, and determining pass/fail/rework decisions as part of Non-Conformance investigations.
Developing and creating manufacturing standards and associated documentation.
Testing products and subassemblies for function or quality, and troubleshooting problems with equipment, devices or products.
Setting up and operating test equipment in line with manufacturing practices and standard work procedures.
Assisting Engineers in developing, building and testing prototypes, new products, processes or procedures.
Calibrating and adjusting equipment (e.g. callipers, micrometres, gauges) to ensure quality production.
Inspecting electronic and mechanical materials, prototype parts and assemblies (IQI, IQL, OQL) for quality and adherence to company, supplier and customer specifications.
Managing and maintaining logs, tracking documentation and systems.
Preparing and creating documents such as Standard Work Instructions, batch records, quality reports and productivity reports.
Measuring and recording data associated with equipment, processes and product development.
Engaging in key Product and Process projects in support of driving TQM and Customer Satisfaction.
What we're looking for:
Strong attention to detail and awareness of Health & Safety practices.
Strong, evidenced practical skills.
Ability to understand and implement processes.
Confidence interpreting engineering proposals and liaising with other disciplines.
Ability to follow work instructions, and create them where required.
Capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision.
An excellent team player who can positively influence the team and contribute ideas to improve process times, quality and yield.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or MES systems for data entry.
