Job Description
My client are an award winning main contractor with an ethos in making sure the project is completed on time, to budget, with a happy client and supply chain. This is of the upmost importance for them as 70% of their workload is repeat business.
Internal promotions coupled with a full order book for 2025 and 60% of 2026 mean they now require a Quantity Surveyor (Project Quantity Surveyor/ Senior Quantity Surveyor level) to join the sociable team. You will need to be a standalone Surveyor with at least 5 years experience working for a main contractor, who enjoys running their own projects without being micromanaged from the Managing Surveyor. In return for this you will be given the freedom to run your own projects autonomously with a team who are genuinely working together to reach the common goal. With an extremely low staff turn over the opportunities to join this contractor are a rare occurrence.
PROJECT:
Initial project will be a £14million new build laboratory for the University. They are happy to consider Surveyors who have either run a similar sized project, or who are now ready to step in to running their own, large project.
POSITION: Project Quantity Surveyor/ Senior Quantity Surveyor
Suitable applicants will possess:
Confidence, self motivation and have a hands-on approach to Quantity Surveying
Good commercial awareness and willingness to be a key team member.
Good communication skills and able to work as part of a team
An education to a Degree standard. While a professional qualification would be an advantage, it is not essential.
A good understanding of the standard forms of Sub-contract is required.
