Job Description

Contract Opportunity: Quantity Surveyor Location: Skipton Contract Basis – Flexible I am working exclusively with a dynamic and growing property developer in Skipton who is seeking a Contract Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing and upcoming high-value construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS or Estimator to work on a flexible, contract basis and bring immediate value to a busy and ambitious team. You’ll be key in overseeing financial performance, managing commercial risk, and supporting successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Oversee multiple construction projects to ensure timely delivery and budget control Manage all commercial aspects from pre-construction budgeting to final account Coordinate with subcontractors for procurement, negotiation, and cost control Conduct detailed risk assessments and implement cost mitigation strategies Prepare and present development appraisals and financial reports to banks and stakeholders Create comprehensive Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Work to support project planning and tendering What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in Quantity Surveying or Estimating within construction or development Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage project finances end-to-end Comfortable working independently on a contract basis Effective communicator, confident in presenting to clients and stakeholders Availability to start promptly or within a short timeframe What’s On Offer: Flexible contract terms to suit your availability Up to £400 a day (Outside IR35) The opportunity to work on exciting, large-scale developments Professional, collaborative working environment
