Job Description

Freelance Quantity Surveyor – Cladding Remediation & Retrofit

Location: Milton Keynes
Contract: Freelance / Contract (temp to perm)
Sector: Social Housing / Cladding Remediation / Retrofit & Decarbonisation

We are working with an established main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Milton Keynes.

The role will primarily focus on subcontract procurement across a growing portfolio of external cladding remediation, retrofit and decarbonisation projects.

The Role

Working alongside the commercial and operational teams, your responsibilities will include:

  * Managing subcontractor procurement across multiple live and upcoming projects

  * Preparing and issuing subcontract tender packages

  * Carrying out tender analysis and commercial comparisons

  * Negotiating subcontractor rates, terms and packages

  * Producing subcontractor recommendations and placing orders

  * Ensuring packages are procured in line with project programmes and budgets

  * Working closely with project teams to understand upcoming procurement requirements

  * Supporting commercial management across the wider project portfolio

  * Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and the existing supply chain

  * Identifying and engaging new subcontractors where required

  * Monitoring procurement schedules and ensuring key packages are secured on time

Projects

The portfolio consists predominantly of:

  * External refurbishment

  * Cladding remediation and replacement

  * Façade works

  * Retrofit and decarbonisation

  * EWI / insulation works

  * Roofing, windows and associated external packages

  * Fire remediation associated with external façades

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong subcontract procurement background. Ideally, you will have experience working for a main contractor within social housing refurbishment, cladding, façades, retrofit or decarbonisation.

You must be commercially strong, comfortable managing multiple subcontract packages simultaneously and able to work closely with both operational teams and the supply chain.

This is a freelance position based from Milton Keynes, offering the opportunity to work across a strong pipeline of cladding remediation and retrofit/decarbonisation projects
