Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively communicate with various stakeholders while delivering accurate and timely cost estimates.
Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
* Monitor project expenses and conduct regular cost analysis to ensure adherence to budgets.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and specifications.
* Conduct site visits to gather data for cost assessments and ensure compliance with project timelines.
* Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.
* Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
* Assist in the preparation of reports for management on financial performance and forecasts.
Skills
* Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail to identify discrepancies in costs.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with team members and stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
