Quantity Surveyor – Wickford, Essex | Up to £60K + Benefits 🔹
Pembrook Resourcing is proud to be representing a family-run principal contractor with a £20M annual turnover. The company delivers high-quality interior and exterior construction projects across the Southeast and has built a reputation for craftsmanship, collaboration, and long-term client relationships.
We’re seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial ownership of projects from inception through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business offering genuine career progression, autonomy, and variety.
Key Responsibilities
* Take full commercial responsibility for assigned projects from start to finish
* Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
* Lead subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, and contract negotiations
* Administer subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, and final settlements
* Prepare and agree monthly applications for payment and CVRs
* Monitor financial performance and proactively manage risk and cost control
* Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors
* Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and project teams
* Ensure accurate and timely commercial reporting
* Oversee contract compliance and change control
Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years’ experience with a main contractor
* Strong understanding of JCT contracts and construction law
* Proven track record managing projects across multiple sectors
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel and commercial software
* Confident presenting commercial reports and leading meetings
* Full UK driving licence
