Job Description

Stride Recruitment are urgently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to manage financial forecasts, cost/value reports, managing subcontractor payments, and maximizing cash flow for a main contractor specialising in residential and commercial construction across the UK, based in Manchester. Key responsibilities: * Manage project budgets, costs, and cash flow. * Prepare monthly cost-value reports and financial forecasts. * Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors. * Negotiate contracts, handle variations, and resolve disputes. * Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients. * Build and maintain strong client relationships. * Mentor junior quantity surveying staff. * Ensure projects comply with health and safety regulations. Academic qualifications: University degree The most common route is to complete a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, preferably accredited by a professional body like the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Degree apprenticeship A Level 4 Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship for those who wanted to earn a salary while they train. This route can eventually lead to a degree apprenticeship and becoming a chartered surveyor.
