Quantity Surveyor - Manchester £55k - £65k + Package Your new company: Our client is a well-established civil engineering and surfacing specialist operating across the North West. Your new role: Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially-minded professional to take ownership of the financial management of civil engineering and surfacing projects, working closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably. Responsibilities will include: Preparation and management of budgets, cost plans, and forecasts for civil engineering and surfacing projects. Measurement and valuation of works, including interim valuations and final accounts. Managing procurement and subcontractor agreements to ensure value for money. Preparing and reviewing tender documentation and contracts. Monitoring project expenditure against budgets and providing regular reports to senior management. Identifying and mitigating financial risks throughout project delivery. Providing commercial advice and support to project teams to optimise profitability. Assisting with claims, variations, and dispute resolution as required. What you will need to succeed: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within civil engineering, surfacing, or infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts. Excellent financial management and reporting skills. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, or similar). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Relevant qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent).
