Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Preston
Purpose:
To manage the commercial and contractual aspects of acoustic installation projects, ensuring effective cost control, profitability, and value for money from tender through to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage project budgets, costs, and cash flow
* Produce valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
* Procure materials, suppliers, and subcontractors
* Monitor and manage variations and change orders
* Administer contracts (JCT/NEC) and manage commercial risk
* Produce regular financial reports and maintain accurate records
* Work closely with project managers and site teams to support delivery
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, fit-out, or specialist subcontracting
* Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard office tools
* Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar)
Desirable:
* Experience in acoustic systems, partitions, ceilings, or interior fit-out
* Membership of or working towards RICS or CIOB
