A leading infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major, long-term infrastructure project in Kent.
The project provides an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work within a complex delivery environment, taking responsibility for the commercial management of their own packages while working closely with the wider project team.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the successful commercial delivery of the project, including:
Managing applications for payment and associated processes
Cost forecasting and financial reporting
Preparation and management of CVRs
Cost-to-complete forecasting
Managing change control and variations
Identifying and managing commercial risk
Managing the subcontract lifecycle
Procurement and subcontract negotiation
Providing commercial advice to the project team
Monitoring project performance against budget
Supporting dispute avoidance and resolution
Maintaining accurate commercial records
Working closely with project delivery and operational teams
About You
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with:
Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor
Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, construction or heavy engineering
Good knowledge of commercial management and contract administration
Experience managing subcontractors
Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting and change
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong Excel and commercial reporting capabilities
