Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil engineering business based in Birmingham.
 This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a growing business, working across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The Role
 As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered commercially successfully.
 Key responsibilities will include:

Managing project costs, budgets and financial reporting.
Preparing and reviewing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and variations.
Preparing and submitting cost/value reports.
Monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks.
Supporting procurement and subcontractor negotiations.
Managing change, variations and compensation events.
Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial compliance.
Working closely with operational teams to maximise project performance.
Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.About You
 We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong civil engineering background. Experience within general construction, residential or purely building environments will not be suitable for this position.
 You should have:

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or related sectors.
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
Experience managing subcontractors and project costs.
Good understanding of valuations, variations, final accounts and cost reporting.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with project teams.
A relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualification is desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.What's on Offer
