Job Description

Commercial Surveyor/ Quantity surveyor

Fit-Out Sector | UK-Wide

A hugely successful and reputable fast fit-out company is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Surveyor to join their commercial team.

The Role

This is a demanding, fast-paced role suited to a self-sufficient surveyor who thrives working independently. You will be based primarily away from HQ working from live sites and from home with attendance at Head Office required once per week. As a national contractor, project locations will vary across the UK, so a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  * Analyse Bills of Quantities and break these down into trade packages

  * Send out enquiries and produce detailed comparison documents

  * Place subcontractor and material orders, including key element material orders following site measurement

  * Measure works on site

  * Hold meetings with suppliers and clients

  * Report directly to the board of directors on a monthly basis, presenting completed CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations)

  * Work autonomously while maintaining direct accountability to board level

Requirements

  * Commercial qualification (e.g. Quantity Surveying or related discipline)

  * Proven experience as a Commercial/Quantity Surveyor within a fit-out or construction environment

  * Experience within leisure and retail fit-out highly desirable

  * Strong BOQ analysis and trade package experience

  * Confident, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

  * Full UK driving licence — travel to sites nationwide required

  * Excellent communication skills, with experience reporting to senior stakeholders/board level
