Job Description

Project Quantity Surveyor- Preston Our client are a reputable tier one main contractor who are looking for a Project Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial management and successful delivery of an allocated project. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS who enjoys working closely with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team, whilst having real ownership of their project.

 Ideal candidate:

Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Previous site-based experience within the construction industry
Strong commercial and financial understanding
Good knowledge of construction and contractual requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Pro-active approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good IT, reporting and presentation skillsDuties will include:

Taking responsibility for the financial and commercial control of the project.
Ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting and commercial administration.
Leading subcontractor procurement and placing subcontract orders.
Managing subcontractor payments, notices and payment schedules.
Maintaining procurement schedules, collateral warranty trackers and other commercial documentation.
Managing the main contract, amendments and associated contract documents.
Agreeing valuations, variations and general contract administration with clients.
Monitoring payments due and cash received to maximise project cash flow.
Attending and chairing risk meetings, identifying potential issues and putting mitigation plans in place.
Working closely with the project team to identify and resolve commercial issues at an early stage.
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
Ensuring final accounts are resolved within the required timescales.
Supporting other members of the commercial team and promoting a collaborative working environment.
Ensuring company and regional commercial procedures are followed.This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor who is looking for a role with genuine responsibility, strong client exposure and the opportunity to take ownership of the commercial delivery of a project.
