Quantity Surveyor

£60,000–£70,000 | Permanent | Bristol

An established UK construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its Bristol team, working across a portfolio of high-value construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS looking to join a well-established contractor offering varied projects, long-term career development and a supportive working environment.

The Role

Working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams, you'll take responsibility for key commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and analysing project budgets

Procuring subcontractors and the wider supply chain

Preparing subcontract order documentation

Assessing and certifying subcontractor interim payments

Preparing interim valuations and final account submissions

Managing and valuing variations

Assisting with Extension of Time claims and Loss & Expense submissions

Identifying and managing commercial risks

Supporting the production of accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports

Building effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams

Ensuring strong communication between commercial and operational site teams

About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who can demonstrate:

A relevant degree qualification

Strong construction industry experience

Good working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts

Sound commercial awareness

Experience across core QS responsibilities including procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Excellent organisational and numerical ability

Good IT and problem-solving skills

The ability to manage deadlines effectively

Flexibility to travel to sites when required
