Job Description

The Role:
We're urgently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on a major new-build commercial MOD project already underway in Reading - Electrical value is £8 million & project completion will be in 6 months.
Our client is a thriving M&E contractor based in the West Midlands & is willing to consider candidates from a construction or building services background.
There is the opportunity to be based on site in Reading or at the client's office in Wolverhampton - if preference is to be located in Wolverhampton, there would still be a requirement 1 day p.w. to be on site in Reading.
Key Responsibilities:
  * Help manage all cost-related aspects of the project.
  * NEC contract experience required
  * Collaborate closely with the main contractor and the MEP project team to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
  * Attend meetings with key stakeholders to report on commercial progression
  * Conduct cost analysis and performance reporting for the electrical components.
  * Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  * Engage in proactive problem-solving and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience:
  * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on a construction project/projects
  * NEC contract experience
  * Electrical or M&E experience advantageous
  * Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  * Ability to work collaboratively within a team or autonomously.
  * Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred.
