Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial management of groundworks packages for new housing developments. Based out of the Liverpool office with regular site visits across the region, you will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective delivery, contract compliance, and financial reporting on multiple high-value schemes.
Responsibilities will include:
Commercial management of housing groundworks and associated infrastructure projects
Preparing and managing interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payment certification
Cost forecasting and budget management across live and pre-construction projects
Providing contractual advice and risk management guidance to project teams
Liaising with clients and housebuilders to maintain strong working relationships
Ensuring compliance with commercial procedures and company standards
Supporting the wider commercial team and mentoring junior staff if required
What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or civil engineering sector
Strong understanding of housing infrastructure works - roads, sewers, foundations, etc.
Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and reporting skills
Strong IT skills and experience with relevant surveying software
Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites
Full UK driving licence
Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification preferred
