Job Description
Quantity Surveyor, Groundworks contractor. Growing company needs motivated QS with previous experience in Residential Groundworks. Residential project experience essential. Freelance option.
Quantity Surveyor, required for an expanding Residential Groundworks contractor with a £25m+ turnover. An additional, motivated Quantity Surveyor is required to join a friendly team. The role involves Reconciliation, Taking-off, preparing Bills of Quantities, through to final accounts. Good pipeline of projects.
The Contractor, based in Surrey, works in the south-east, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire, generally outside the M25 and down to the coast. Currently running 24 sites with project / package values ranging from £750k to £12m. Clients include main developers, Persimmon Homes, Bellway, Cala Homes, and Churchill Retirement Homes, so a good spread of end clients to work for. The work covers all the civils, groundworks, and infrastructure site requirements.
Quantity Surveyor, capable of running 2-3 live contracts reporting to the Commercial Manager. With good industry knowledge, you must be self-motivated, ambitious, hungry to progress, and eager to help the company expand. You are likely to have a minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience to fill this role. Formal qualifications, whilst good to see, are not essential, experience in Groundworks is essential.
Quantity Surveyor. Essential skills for the role:
* Able to take off from drawings, both hard copy and electronic format
* Prepare Bills of Quantities
* Exposure and experience in Groundworks and Civil Engineering.
* Post-contract re-measurement quantity surveying
* Preparing interim valuations
* Identifying scope changes
* Negotiating Variations
* Monitoring sub-contractor accounts
* Monthly cost / value reconciliations
* Monitoring cash collection
* Agreeing Final Accounts
* Contract Correspondence
* Site Visits
* Experience of running own projects with minimal supervision or guidance
* Some Estimating skills
* Driving licence
