We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor based in London. Specialising in high-quality refurbishment and new build projects within the education, healthcare, residential and public sectors, the business is known for delivering technically challenging projects on time and within budget — often as part of public sector frameworks.
You will play a vital role in the commercial management of projects ranging from £500k to £10m, ensuring maximum value and cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of cost control and commercial reporting across multiple projects
*
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
*
Perform risk, value management, and cost control
*
Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
*
Monitor project costs and variations; prepare valuations, final accounts, and cash flow forecasts
*
Liaise closely with the site team, clients, and subcontractors to ensure commercial success
*
Procure subcontractors, review and manage subcontractor accounts
*
Attend site meetings and support the contract team with financial advice and strategies
Requirements:
*
Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
*
Experience working on refurbishment and/or new build projects, preferably within the education, healthcare, or public sectors
*
Excellent knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC etc.)
*
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
*
Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
*
Full UK driving licence preferred
