Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civils and plant hire company - based Glasgow.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial and contractual aspects are effectively handled throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
* Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to provide accurate financial advice.
* Prepare tender documents, contracts, and agreements for subcontractors and suppliers.
* Conduct risk assessments and provide solutions to mitigate potential financial issues.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
* Assist in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentation.
Experience
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is highly preferred
* Proven experience in cost control within the civil engineering industry is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of these type of contracts, procurement processes, and relevant legislation.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
