The Project
This is a rare opportunity to join the early stages of a £30m+ Waste Water Treatment Works upgrade in Buckinghamshire — a major project within the AMP8 programme. It’s an essential piece of infrastructure that will provide clean water to thousands of homes and is part of a secured, long-term pipeline of work with a top-tier contractor.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll support the commercial delivery of this flagship project from pre-construction through to final account. You’ll work alongside a Senior QS and Commercial Manager, gaining exposure to complex packages and client-facing responsibilities, while helping ensure financial performance and contract compliance under NEC3/4 Option C.
This is an excellent development opportunity for a QS looking to step up in project scale and technical challenge, with clear progression into Senior QS and beyond.
⚙️ What You’ll Be Doing
Support the commercial management of subcontractor accounts and applications
Assist with change control processes and CE submissions under NEC
Help prepare cost reports and CVRs in line with project timelines
Liaise with operational and engineering teams to maintain robust site records
Assist in identifying commercial risks and opportunities
Contribute to client communications and stakeholder reporting
Ensure timely preparation of applications, notices, and final accounts
Learn and develop under experienced commercial leadership
What You’ll Bring
Experience working under NEC3/4 Option C contracts (essential)
Civil Engineering or Water sector background preferred
Strong Excel skills and experience with commercial systems (e.g. CEMAR, Oracle)
Good knowledge of subcontract procurement and valuations
Motivated, detail-focused, and eager to grow in a high-performing team
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (preferred)
Working toward or recently achieved MRICS/MCIOB (a bonus)
