Quantity Surveyor - Planned Refurbishments (Social Housing)
Location: Near Chigwell, Essex
Salary: Up to £65,000 + Benefits
Sector: Property Services / Social Housing / Refurbishment
Are you a confident and self-sufficient Quantity Surveyor looking to join a reputable contractor with a strong pipeline of work? Our client, a well-established property services contractor based near Chigwell, is seeking an experienced QS to help deliver a wide range of planned refurbishment projects across occupied social housing stock.
The Role
You'll be joining a thriving commercial team of over 40 Quantity Surveyors, covering a diverse portfolio of works with a particular focus on:
Planned refurbishments to occupied houses and blocks
Retrofit and SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) schemes
Kitchens & bathrooms replacements
Windows, roofing, and brickwork repairs
Fire safety works including FRA upgrades, fire doors, alarms, and signage
With over £100m of secured work for this financial year alone, you'll be part of a fast-paced, forward-thinking contractor with real stability and opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Running projects independently from start to final account
Managing budgets and costs for planned maintenance schemes
Working closely with site teams and client representatives
Supporting compliance and financial reporting requirements
Identifying risks and opportunities across live projects
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in social housing planned maintenance/refurbishments
Strong knowledge of contracts and commercial procedures
Ability to manage your own workload and drive jobs forward
Comfortable working in and around occupied properties
Excellent communication and organisational skills
