About Us
Our client is a well-established subcontractor specialising in delivering high-quality construction packages across the South East. We’ve built a strong reputation for excellence in groundworks, reinforced concrete (RC) frames, and general construction services. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a permanent basis.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with strong subcontractor experience who can hit the ground running. You’ll be responsible for managing project finances, from tender through to final account, ensuring profitability, cost control, and contractual compliance. This is a key role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
*
Preparation and submission of valuations, variations, and final accounts
*
Manage and monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow
*
Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to resolve commercial issues
*
Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including payment approvals
*
Attend site meetings and provide commercial input
*
Prepare monthly CVRs and cost reports
*
Identify, value and negotiate change/variation orders
*
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company procedures
Requirements
*
Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with a subcontractor
*
Strong knowledge of groundworks, RC frame or general building trades
*
Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC contracts
*
Commercially astute and able to work independently
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other commercial software
*
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
*
Full UK driving licence
